Blinkit to introduce paramedics in 10-min ambulance service

E-commerce giant Blinkit that successfully launched the 10-minute ambulance is all set to launch in-house paramedic training to enhance trust in the services.

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal in a LinkdeIn post noted that many still avoided calling ambulances, preferring private vehicles due to doubts about timely arrival and care while on raod.

To change this, Blinkit is now investing in paramedic training, aiming not just to provide medical support, but also comfort and assurance during crises.

“We discovered how hesitant people still are to call an ambulance, even in critical moments. Many prefer personal cars or cabs, afraid help won’t arrive on time.” Goyal said.

Goyal elaborated that finding and training paramedics who could deliver not just medical aid but also reassurance was crucial.

“Our team is now building an in-house paramedic training programme to raise the bar of emergency care in India,” Deepinder Goyal announced.

Reflecting on the journey of service so far, he shared that the firm started with the aim of providing ambulance services in 10 minutes, just like groceries.

“We started with 5 ambulances at the beginning of the year in Gurugram, and currently, they have 12,” he added.
