CIRG (ICAR) & Yuvaan Agro Goat Farm join hands in a historic partnership on International Goat Day New Delhi [India], September 9: On the occasion of International Goat Day, a landmark agreement was signed between the Central Institute for Research on Goats (CIRG), Mathura and the Yuvaan Agro Goat Farm & Research Institute, Agra. This historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims to promote scientific, modern, and commercial goat farming in India.
The MoU focuses on providing a new direction to goat farming by connecting farmers with advanced research, technology, and training.
Key Highlights of the MoU – 1. Collaborative Research & Development – Joint research initiatives to strengthen modern goat farming practices.
2. Semen Testing & Artificial Insemination – Ensuring high-quality semen testing facilities for improved breeding.
3. Pregnancy Detection Kit Development – Technical support for timely pregnancy detection in goats.
4. Capacity Building & Skill Development – Training programs for farmers to adopt scientific goat farming methods.
Mr. D.K. Singh, Director of Yuvaan Agro Goat Farm & Research Institute, said – This agreement will prove to be a transformative step in the lives of farmers. The aim of Yuvaan Agro in the coming years is to connect 10,000 farmers with scientific and modern goat farming. Yuvaan Agro Farm is spread over 250,000 sq. ft. in a vast green rural area. The farm is a home to world-class breeds of goats. At present, the farm houses around 5,000 goats and targets to reach 25,000 animals within the next 5 years.” On this occasion, the Director of CIRG stated – “This partnership between Yuvaan Agro and CIRG will give a new direction to goat farming in India and will play a vital role in making small farmers self-reliant.” This MoU, signed on International Goat Day, is expected to take Indian goat farming to new heights and empower farmers with innovation, technology, and sustainable growth.
