The gifting culture in India experiences a significant boost during the festival season, with Christmas gifting quickly catching up, especially in urban areas. According to industry experts, Christmas gifting is expected to grow by 15 to 20 per cent this year, reaching a value of around Rs 25,500 crore.

While Diwali remains the dominant gifting season, with a market worth over Rs 2 lakh crore, Christmas gifting is gaining popularity, especially among the corporate sector and young adults. The growing celebration of Christmas in offices, Christmas parties among friends, and the availability of personalised and innovative gifting options have contributed to this surge.

“The Christmas gifting market is growing at 15 per cent year-on-year, and we expect it to reach Rs 25,500 crore this year,” said Piyush Jain, founder and CEO, SkinInspired. “The northern region, comprising Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh, contributes less than 20 per cent to the total Christmas gifting market.”
