Riding on the twin boost of festive demand and GST-led price cuts, Hero MotoCorp has reaffirmed its dominance in the two-wheeler market. It has become the first manufacturer in India to cross 125 million units in cumulative production. The auto major recorded dispatches of 6,87,220 units in September, marking an 8 per cent year-on-year rise over 6,37,050 units in the same month last year.

Showroom activity saw a sharp spike, with festive footfalls more than doubling compared to last year. On the exports front, Hero reported its highest-ever quarterly tally of 1,11,584 units, including 39,638 units in September alone — a staggering 94.8 per cent jump over September 2024.

“The GST cuts came at the cusp of festivities and have been one of the biggest market drivers. We had our best festive season last year, and this year’s trends suggest we’re heading for our best-ever festive run,” said Ashutosh Varma, Chief Business Officer, Hero MotoCorp. He added that Hero’s success lies in its ability to innovate across consumer segments.

“Hero has managed to design tailor-made automobiles for different consumer needs. We are a proud Indian brand that has not just gained trust but retained it. Every fifth Indian home has a Hero automobile,” he said.

Varma said the company expects another sales spike during the Dhanteras-to-Diwali period, with Hero poised to capture the lion’s share of the booming two-wheeler market.

According to him, Hero’s customer-first philosophy has been key to its enduring success. “For us, it’s all about the consumer. Everything we plan or do is based on what benefits them. Whether it’s a commuter bike, a women’s scooter, or an off-roading vehicle — Hero has an answer for every dream,” Varma added. He said the company is also emphasising road safety, from providing children’s helmets to sensitising riders. “We want every two-wheeler sold to ensure a safe journey,” he said.
