8 core sectors’ growth slows down to 0.7%
New Delhi: India’s eight core sectors’ growth slowed down to 0.7 per cent, lowest in nine months, in May against 6.9 per cent in the same month last year, according to the latest government data released on Friday.
In April, the growth of these key infrastructure sectors were recorded at 1 per cent. The output of four key sectors — crude oil, natural gas, fertiliser and electricity — recorded a negative growth in May. Refinery products and cement recorded a positive growth.
Ratul Puri discharged in Rs 1K-cr Moser Baer ‘bank fraud’ cases
New Delhi: The courts here have discharged industrialist Ratul Puri in two separate alleged banking fraud cases amounting to Rs 1,101 crore, as no criminality was discerned in the evidence presented by the CBI in its chargesheets, officials said.
The CBI had filed separate chargesheets against Puri and others in connection with purported fraud cases involving Moser Baer Solar Limited and Moser Baer India Ltd.
