India-EAEU free trade discussions in November
In a significant step toward deepening economic ties, India and Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) would start negotiations for a free trade agreement in early November in India, the Russian Embassy said in statement.
The decision was taken following a meeting between Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Andrey Slepnev on Monday. The two leaders deliberated on to advance negotiations for a free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and India.
According to a statement from Russian Embassy, the ministers agreed to commence the first round of formal negotiations in early November in India.
This inaugural session will focus on core aspects of the prospective trade deal, laying the groundwork for a comprehensive agreement.
To ensure a robust foundation for the talks, intensive consultations will take place prior to November, involving the EEC, Indian authorities, and EAEU member states.
