The country’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, reported a 46.9 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase in standalone profit for the June quarter, reaching Rs 3,650 crore. This was broadly on account of cost reduction efforts, favourable commodity prices and foreign exchange. In the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, the net profit was Rs 2,485 crore.
During the quarter, the passenger vehicle maker registered net sales of Rs 33,875 crore as against Rs 30,845 crore in quarter one of FY 2023-24.
It sold 5,21,868 vehicles during the quarter. — TNS
