MCA revokes licence of Amritsar firm promising jobs

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has revoked the licence of an Amritsar-based firm, registered as a non-profit organisation (NPO), for fraudulently representing as a government organisation and accepting money from job aspirants as application fee.
“The MCA has revoked the licence of ‘Special Defence Personnel Forum’, issued under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013, and deactivated the Director Identification Number (DIN) of both directors of the company,” said Dr Raj Singh, Regional Director (NR), Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
Sources said the office of the Regional Directorate, Northern Region, had issued show-cause notices to the company and its directors after it come to its notice that the company had issued an advertisement in one of the national dailies on August 5, fraudulently representing as a government organisation under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The sources further said by using the name of Government of India, they tried to mislead the innocent applicants.
“The company was incorporated three months ago with an objective of social welfare of ex-servicemen by two persons. However, they started collecting money in the form of application fee from the aspiring candidates, which they were not supposed to,” he added.
According to Singh, the company had issued the advertisement for over 500 posts under various categories. “After examining the documents, it was found that 305 applicants from various cities had applied for such posts for which the company had no structure to provide employment,” he added.
