Hit by the Covid pandemic, multiplex chains in the region have devised a new strategy to attract audience. They are focusing on private screenings for as low as Rs 1,999.

INOX Leisure Ltd (INOX), one of the leading multiplex chains, has launched exclusive friends and family private cinema experience at all its operational cinemas across the country, providing an additional way to enjoy the cinema experience with handpicked content in an exclusive and personalised manner while maintaining social distancing.

“With this service, guests can reserve the entire auditorium for a private show. This exclusively curated experience may be availed at the date and time of their choice at any of the operational INOX cinemas across the country. To make it a more memorable affair, we will allow the guests to book the content of their choice, either from the current playlist or an old blockbuster,” INOX’s chief marketing officer Saurabh Varma said.

In the region comprising Delhi, Haryana and Punjab, INOX has 48 screens where they are offering services. Across the country, it has 626 screens in 68 cities.

“We believe a large segment of our audience will feel more comfortable enjoying a movie with just their family members and friends,” he added.

Similarly, Cinépolis is offering private screening to give audience a unique experience. According to Devang Sampat, CEO, Cinepolis India, these private screenings provide patrons a unique opportunity to experience movies with their loved ones in a luxurious ambience and 5-star hospitality, starting from Rs 2,999 for up to 40 persons.

“Since the launch of this initiative, we have been getting a tremendous response from patrons. We will definitely keep this initiative going throughout the festive season to provide our patrons a chance to celebrate these special days in a unique and wonderful way,” he added. In North India, Cinepolis has 146 screens and 390 across the country.

Likewise, PVR has introduced ‘private screening’ option to enjoy movies with friends and family. The whole theatre can be booked at a nominal price of Rs 1,999.
