Panel seeks better rail link for Ellenabad, meets MP Kumari Selja

Members of the Rail Sangharsh Committee from Ellenabad met MP Kumari Selja in Sirsa and submitted a memorandum seeking solutions to key transport and development issues on Saturday. They urged that Ellenabad be connected to Sirsa by rail for the benefit of local residents. They also requested starting of long-distance trains from Ellenabad to major cities to improve travel options.

Besides, the committee also demanded direct bus service from Ellenabad to various cities in Punjab to boost trade and economic opportunities in the region. Kumari Selja assured committee members that she would take up their demands on priority. Committee president Narendra Kumar Gidra, convenor MP Tanwar, patron Mohan Singh Rakhra and vice president Pawan Jaju were present on the occasion. —
