A 51-year-old Indian man, Jagjit Singh, has been convicted of criminally harassing two teenage girls outside a high school in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. Singh, who was visiting Canada on a six-month visa to meet his newborn grandchild, will be deported and permanently banned from re-entering the country.

Singh reportedly frequented the school’s smoking area between September 8-11, approaching girls to take photos and discussing drugs and alcohol—despite not speaking English. One victim recounted relenting to a photo, only for Singh to invade her personal space and attempt to place his arm around her.

“This type of conduct will not be tolerated," Justice Krista Lynn Leszczynski noted.

Singh's lawyer told the judge that he had a ticket to return to India on December 30, but the judge ordered his deportation and a ban on his entry into Canada.
