The Special Unit for Anti Gangster (SUAG) of the district police have arrested two persons for snatching a car from a person in the Murthal area a week ago. The police have also recovered the car from the accused’s possession.
The accused have been identified as Rahul of Bhadi, and Deepak of Rathdhana village of the district.
The police produced the accused before a court on Monday, which sent remanded them in judicial custody.
The district SUAG In-charge, Inspector Ajay Dhankar, said Satbir of village Shera, in his complaint to the Murthal police on September 21, said he was on the way to Sonepat from Panipat in his car on September 20. As he reached near Nangal village, he parked his car for some time, when two masked men arrived near him in a black car. One of the men pushed him, and he fell down.
Then, one of accused drove his car away, while the other fled in the black car.
The victim’s mobile phone was in his car. Following the complaint, the Murthal police registered a case and nabbed the accused. The accused have revealed their involvement in another car robbery in the Kharkhoda area.
