A delegation of the Chandigarh Aided College Teachers’ Association (CACTA), met the Punjab Governor and UT Administrator to discuss the long-pending issues of government-aided colleges in the city.
The delegation presented a comprehensive memorandum outlining key demands, including the implementation of University Grants Commission (UGC) Regulations 2018, processing of pending CAS promotions, release of Dearness Allowance and enhancement of House Rent Allowance from 16 to 20 per cent, implementation of one-year probation with full salary and grant of past service benefits to eligible teachers.
“The Governor gave a patient and sympathetic hearing to the delegation and acknowledged that these are genuine and legitimate demands of the aided college faculty. He assured that the Administration is actively examining the matter and will take prompt steps for its early resolution,” said delegation member Dr Shaminder Singh Sandhu.
