Rahul Gandhi forced govt to announce caste census: Lucky

HS Lucky, president of the Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee, today claimed that the tireless efforts of Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, forced the Union government to conduct caste census.

In a statement issued today, Lucky said, “Rahul Gandhi’s unwavering commitment to the cause of India’s backward and marginalised communities has finally borne fruit. His consistent pressure, both inside the parliament and across the country, has compelled the Modi government to announce a caste census, which they had long evaded.”

He said, “The Congress always stood for equality and justice. Rahul's Bharat Jodo Yatra and his repeated calls for caste-based enumeration reflect our commitment to uplift every Indian by first understanding their socio-economic realities.”
