The district administration will conduct a drive to plant 1.50 lakh saplings on July 23. The drive is part of the Green Mission wherein all departments have been assigned specific plantation targets.

Taking a review meeting of all departments to chalk out plantation strategy along with ADC (Rural Development) Sonam Chaudhary, ADC (Urban Development) Damanjit Singh Mann said 50,000 saplings each would be planted in the three subdivisions.

Punjab Forest Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak and Financial Commissioner (Forests) Krishan Kumar will join the drive at Jaula Kalan village in Dera Bassi subdivision where 10,000 saplings will be planted in one go.
