Ten members of newly elected Chandigarh Golf Club (CGC) president Ravibir Singh Grewal’s team and two members of the panel of his opponent, Birinder Singh Gill, have been elected by the 1,183 club voters to the 12-member executive team.

The polls to pick the new management were held yesterday, and Grewal registered an outright win for the top post by a margin of 401 votes. The counting of votes for the executive team was held today.

While Kulbir Singh Brar bagged the most votes (687), Major (Retd) Rajinder Singh Virk, who contested the last year’s presidential elections, managed 677 votes to keep the second position. Rohit Singh Dagar (673), Gursimran Singh Sibia (652), Gurpreet Singh Bakshi (598), Sanjev Verma (575), Gursimrat Singh Jawandha (558), SPS Ghai (555), Dr Agnish Rajesh (551), Vijay Wadhawan (521), HS Kang (510) and Dr Raman Abrol (504) all made it to the top 12. Except for Virk and Ghai, all 10 members were part of Grewal’s team.
