A boy, who had gone missing in Maharashtra 10 years ago, has been reunited with his family.
Officials of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, Haryana State Crime Branch, said their team reunited the 18-year-old boy, identified as Jitendra Chandell, with his family after 10 years. He had gone missing from Gondia district of Maharashtra in 2014 at the age of 8.
Police officials said ASI Rajesh Kumar of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit had contacted the Bilaspur Child Home in Chhattisgarh while searching for missing children from Haryana. A worker at the home informed him about an 18-year-old boy named Jitendra Chandell, who had been residing there for about eight years.
During counselling, Jitendra disclosed the details about his family members. He recalled leaving his village of Mali with his mother, who was mentally unwell . The team found that Jitendra’s original village was Madanpur in Balaghat district of MP. His father had passed away.
On Tuesday, Jitendra’s uncle and family arrived in Panchkula and were happy to see Jitendra.
