100 playgrounds came up in Mohali district last fiscal

Another 184 are planned across other villages this year

The district administration officials today visited Behlolpur, Chandpur, and Naggal Garhian village in Majri block and inspected the completed and ongoing works related to ponds and playgrounds.

Officials said around 100 playgrounds have already been developed in the last fiscal year, while another 184 are planned across other villages this year.

Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Sonam Chaudhary reviewed the ongoing development works in various villages.

Highlighting the importance of a healthy rural environment, the Deputy Commissioner mentioned that village ponds across the district will soon be developed based on the Thapar Model, which aims to offer a long-term solution to the issue of liquid waste in rural areas.
