11 hotspots identified in Mohali's Kumbhra, 15 rapid response teams deployed

As many as 16 new patients complained of diarrhoea like symptoms at the medical camp in Kumbhra today. However, no new hospitalization have been was reported. Around a dozen patients continue to be admitted in the Civil Hospital, Mohali, for the second day.
Civil Surgeon Dr Davinder Singh said, “The patients got the treatment in OPD and returned home. The situation is under control now.”
The administration officials have identified eleven hotspots in the district vulnerable to outbreaks and chalked out a strategy to deal with the waterborne diseases and dengue in the coming season.
In a review meeting held today at the District Administrative Complex, the Additional Deputy Commissioner directed the officials to pay special attention to Ward No. 18 Rauni Mohalla, Saini Nagar in Dera Bassi, Dhiremajara, Madanpur, Mauli Baidwan, Azad Nagar, Adarsh Nagar, Badmajra, Sante Majra, Rambagh in Kharar, Shivjot Enclave in Kharar and Jujhar Nagar, which have been declared hotspots in the district.
“15 Rapid Response (RR) teams in the district have been mobilised for hotspot areas, door-to-door surveys and to provide medicines and awareness in the affected areas,” said Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Sonam Chaudhary.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Damanjit Singh Mann said, “A call centre is also being set up from where the administration will keep in touch with the affected patients and their families and arrange necessary help like medicine etc. and also inquire about their well-being.
