A 12-year-old boy was electrocuted at his home in Indira Colony, Manimajra, today.

The victim, identified as Dev Kumar, was playing inside his home (jhuggi) when a pedestal fan fell on him. He suffered a shock and collapsed. His family members rushed him to the Manimajra Civil Hospital where the doctors declared him “brought dead”.

The boy’s mother said Dev had returned home from school and she had gone to drop her other child at the evening school. When she came back, she found her son lying on the floor with the fan lying toppled nearby.

The police reached the spot soon after receiving information. They have begun an investigation to establish the exact cause of the mishap.
