13-day crafts mela concludes on a high note

Thirteen-day crafts mela came to an end on a high note on Thursday.

Gurlez Aktar and Kulwinder Kally enthralled the audience with their latest songs on the concluding day.

Students participated in folk dances, arts and songs competitions.

The district administration said tradesmen from various parts of the country and world registered sales amounting to Rs 3.15 crore during the event.

Singers, including R Nait and Ujagar Antal also performed in the event. Folk dances of various states, including Assam Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Manipur were presented along with luddhi and giddha of Punjab.

Punjab Police cultural troupe entertains visitors

The Punjab Police cultural troupe, Patiala, entertained the visitors with colourful and musical performances during the crafts mela at Sheesh Mahal here where various stalls of wooden furniture, handicrafts, food stalls and other artists of daily use and decoration items were presented.

ADC (Development) and mela officer, Dr Preeti Yadav said the Punjab Police cultural troupe Patiala remained associated for the colourful performances at the craft mela for the entertainment of the visitors.

The teams presented folk traditional performances in singing, dances and other folk forms such as Bazian of Punjab, Bhand of Punjab, mela of Punjab, folk tales of Punjab.
