In view of the rising number of Covid cases in the city, Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary (Health), UT, today ordered mandatory self-home quarantine for 14 days for visitors from outside the tricity.

Not applicable if stay less than 72 hours

The order will not be applicable to visitors spending less than 72 hours in the city. This will help business executives, government employees and other such persons who come to the city for official work and leave after a short stay.

Registration on UT website mandatory

All visitors entering the UT from places other than the tricity will have to get themselves registered on the UT website. Outsiders staying in the city for not more than 72 hours will also have to register themselves. The police will check their registration at the UT borders.

However, the order will not apply to visitors spending less than 72 hours in the city. This will help business executives and government employees, who come to the city for official work and leave after a short stay.

During a war room meeting, UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore said in the recent past, most Covid cases were of persons coming from outside the city. He appealed to the RWAs, voluntary agencies and social workers to cooperate with the authorities in monitoring the stay and movement of persons coming from outside the UT.
