152 units of blood collected at camp by Thalassaemic Charitable Trust
Thalassaemic Charitable Trust organised its 311th blood donation camp today in collaboration with the Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER, here to celebrate International Women’s Day. The camp was organised for thalassemia patients at the Blood Donation Complex, PGIMER.
Volunteers donated 152 units of blood at the camp. The camp was inaugurated by Prof Sadhna Lal, Department of Paediatrics Gastroenterology and Hepatology, PGIMER. Prof Rati Ram Sharma, Head, Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER, and Prof Ashish Jain were the guest of honour on the occasion. They blessed and motivated blood donors.
International Women’s Day was celebrated by a cake cutting ceremony by thalassemic women in the presence of guests. Sandhya Wadhwa donated blood for the 11th time. Trust member secretary Rajinder Kalra was the main coordinator of the camp.
