16 booked in Chandigarh for immigration frauds

The police have launched a drive against unauthorised travel agents and consultancy firms operating in the city. During the drive, 14 cases were registered and 16 persons were booked for violations.

Teams carried out extensive checks across the city to ensure compliance with the District Magistrate’s orders requiring all visa and foreign travel agents to submit their antecedents in writing to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate for verification, and mandating new firms to register within four weeks of commencing business.

The action covered several firms, including Visa Path Guru and Next Nation Consultant Company, both in Sector 8, Truetrust Consultants in Sector 17, Prism Services in Sector 20, Amber Immigration Services amd Ruffles Educity in Sector 35, Visa Planet Immigration in Sector 31, Balaji Global Pathways, Smart Solution Abroad Consultancy, World Travel Advisor, World Trip Immigration and Akal Overseas Consultants in Sector 34, Step to Abroad Education Immigration Consultant in Sector 32 and Rise World Immigration in Sector 47.

Alongside enforcement, the police are intensifying public awareness efforts through community camps, urging citizens to verify the registration status of immigration firms before engaging their services.
