“The blood and stool test reports will be received tomorrow. The report of water samples will also be available tomorrow. Most of the cases are being found in Sukhna Colony in Dhakoli,” said Dr Adarshpal Kaur, Mohali Civil Surgeon. It has been six days since people started complaining of diarrhoea-like symptoms in Peer Muchalla and then in Dhakoli, but still new cases are being reported from the area every day.

Contamination of water due to sewage and waterlogging in the area is said to be the main cause of the outbreak.
