The police have registered the case against all accused under Section 188 of the IPC on a complaint of constable Karmbir Singh, who alleged that all accused were found raising slogans against the Punjab Government on August 8, 2020, near the MC office, Chandigarh. They were going towards the residence of the Punjab Chief Minister, thereby violating the order of the District Magistrate issued under Section 144 of the CrPC on July 9, 2020.

In the order, the District Magistrate has prohibited the gathering of five or more persons and raising slogans.
