16-year-old boy killed, 2 friends seriously injured in road mishap in Chandigarh

A 16-year-old boy was killed, while two of his friends were seriously injured, when their car allegedly collided with another car at the Sector 28/29 and Industrial Area light point during the wee hours of Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Akashdeep of Gurdaspur district. His friends Dalip and Vishal were left injured.

Akashdeep and Dalip had come to the city to celebrate Vishal’s birthday.

Their Baleno car went up into flames following the collision.

Passersby rushed to the rescue of the injured, who were taken to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Sector 32, where doctors declared Akasdeep as brought dead.

Police and fire department was informed about the accident following which police and a fire tender reached the spot.

An investigation into the matter has been initiated at Industrial Area police station.
