18-year-old youth found dead in Mohali
A 18-year-old migrant youth was found dead near the Chappar Chiri road this afternoon.
The victim, who has been identified as Vijay, a native of Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, had arrived in the city looking for work a week ago. Two bullet shells were found near his body but cops said there was no gunshot wound on the body. His brother has demanded a thorough investigation apprehending foul play in the incident. He told the police that Vijay had gone to drop his fiancee’s sister on a bicycle but did not return home last night.
His family members later received a call informing them about his death.
“My family in Unnao received a call from the fiancee informing them about the incident. The death of my brother must be investigated properly to find out the truth,” the victim’s brother said.
Vijay was employed with a private firm in Sector 82. He is survived by his father and elder brother.
Balongi station house officer Kulwant Singh said the body has been moved to the mortuary at the Phase-6 Civil Hospital and the postmortem would be conducted.Meanwhile, the forensic teams collected samples from the spot where the body was found. The police have also recovered the victim’s mobile phone.
