Acting against anti-social elements, the Panchkula police arrested a 19-year-old with a county-made pistol. The arrested suspect has been identified as Aarish, alias Sahil, son of Gaffar, resident of village Fatehpur Nangli, Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, currently a tenant in the area under Kundi police station, Panchkula.

The police received information from a secret source that Aarish was roaming near the Sector 28 Community Centre with an illegal country-made pistol, on the basis of which the accused was arrested. On searching him, the pistol and one live cartridge were recovered. On asking about the same, the accused could not produce any licence and a case was registered under Section 25 (1-A) of the Arms Act at Chandimandir police station.
