19-yr-old girl held for killing grandmother at Kalka

The police have arrested a 19-year-old girl for murdering her 60-year-old grandmother at Kalka two days ago. The prime accused, Shrishti, allegedly killed the woman with the help of her juvenile friend.

Geeta Devi’s daughter, who lives in Pinjore, found the elderly woman murdered at her Kalka house on Friday.

Her daughter, Neeru had told the police that no member of the family was at home when she found her mother murdered.

The police started looking for Shrishti and arrested her along with her juvenile friend from Ramgarh on Sunday.

Kalka SHO Hari Ram said the boy was sent to a juvenile home. Shrishti was produced in a local court. The Judge sent her to three-day police custody.

Police sources said the juvenile was a native of Punjab. The two got acquainted on Instagram and had been in touch for over one year. The juvenile had met the girl at her house on Friday. He was carrying a knife. The two were trying to flee but the girl’s grandmother intervened. The elderly woman was attacked with the knife and she died on the spot.

The police are yet to recover the murder weapon.
