Nearly 2.41 per cent passengers coming from other states have tested positive for Covid-19 at the ISBT-17 here.

Special mobile team

Dr VK Nagpal, Medical Superintendent, Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, stated that a special mobile team had been deployed at the bus stand to screen passengers. A total of 1,488 samples had been collected in the past nine days and 36 of them had tested positive for the virus.

Amid rising coronavirus cases in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), Dr Amandeep Kang, Director, Health Services, UT, initiated a process to test passengers arriving at the ISBT-17 from other states.

Dr VK Nagpal, Medical Superintendent, Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, stated that a special mobile team had been deployed at the bus stand to screen the passengers. On confirmation, the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme of the home state of the passenger was informed for further action, said Dr Paramjeet Singh, Deputy Medical Superintendent, GMSH. Over sudden spurt in coronavirus cases, the UT Administration is also considering certain measures to contain further spread of the virus in the city. — TNS
