The police registered an FIR against the accused on the complaint of Arman Alim, a resident of Maloya Colony, Chandigarh. He said that on September 24, 2024, when he had gone to the market of Maloya Colony to get his mobile phone repaired, the accused attacked him and injured him badly. After injuring him, they fled the spot. During investigation, they were arrested.

After completion of the investigation a challan against the accused was filed in the court. Siddhant Pandit and Vikas Rana, counsel for both accused, argued that the complainant had not supported the case of the prosecution and had retracted from his statement given to police. After hearing the arguments the court acquitted the accused of the charges.
