2 booked for raping minor in car

The police have booked two unidentified youths on the charges of raping a 16-year-old girl in a moving car on the night of July 23 in Zirakpur.

On a statement of the victim’s mother, a case under Sections 65, 3(5) of the BNS and POCSO Act has been registered at the Zirakpur police station.

The complainant has stated that her daughter works at a salon in Zirakpur. Around 8 pm on July 23, when she was waiting for an auto near VIP Road to return home, two unidentified car-borne youths forced her into their car and molested her. They took her to several places before dropping her back. On the way, they were taking the name of her brother, said the complainant.

Zirakpur SP Jaspinder Singh said, “The statement of the victim’s mother has been recorded. The police are verifying the incident.”
