Two city boxers have won bronze medals in the eighth Elite Women’s National Boxing Championship 2025 that concluded at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida today.

Anju (70-75kg category) and Pranshu Rathore (80kg) settled for bronze. Their bouts were held yesterday.

In the 75kg category, Muskan of Railways bagged gold, while Punjab’s Anjali got silver. Besides Anju, Shweta of Rajasthan too won bronze.

In the 75-80kg category, two-time Asian champion Pooja Rani of Haryana won gold. Lalfakmawi Ralte of All-India Police got the silver. Lalfakmawi gave a tough fight to Poojain in the 80kg final before the Tokyo Olympian took the bout in her favour 4:3. Pranshu and Anupama of Railways bagged bronze.

Chandigarh team manager NK Dureja said in the 65kg category, Haryana’s Neeraj Phogat had a narrow win (4:3) over Simranjit Kaur of Punjab to be crowned the national champion. Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) retained the team trophy with nine medals (five gold and four bronze medals). Haryana team were runners-up with six medals (two gold, three silvers and one bronze).

In the 38th National Games in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, Pranshu Rathore had claimed silver in the 75kg category.
