The Mohali police have launched a special campaign to inspect the functioning of immigration agents and consultancy firms in the district. They discovered that there are 201 registered offices of such firms. A total of 89 offices were inspected by officers from various subdivisions, with some being booked under the Immigration Act, Punjab Human Trafficking Act, and other relevant laws.

Richmond Consultancy, located in Phase 3B2, was booked for operating without a license under the Immigration Act, with owner Amandeep Singh facing charges. Additionally, Deepak Kumar, the owner of a firm in Phase 1 and a resident of Phase 3B2, was booked at Phase 1 police station under the Immigration Act.
