Two youths in their mid-20s suffered injuries after the car in which they were travelling rammed into a stationary truck on the Zirakpur flyover here late on Saturday night.
The victims have been identified as Jaswinder Singh and Gurjant Singh, both residents of Makhan Majra, Chandigarh.
The Investigating Officer said the incident took place when the duo was returning home around 1.30 am in their car after attending a marriage function in Dera Bassi. When they reached near the Zirakpur flyover, the youth, who was behind the wheels, failed to notice the truck parked along the roadside and rammed into it.
The victims were taken to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32, Chandigarh.
Acting on the complaint of the victims, the police have registered a case against an unidentified driver under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code at the Zirakpur police station. Further probe is on.
