20 challaned in Panchkula for traffic violations on Holi
To ensure peace and adherence to traffic rules during Holi, the police conducted a special campaign across the district. The City Traffic Team and Surajpur Traffic Team jointly took strict action against vehicle drivers violating traffic regulations.
During inspections at special police checkpoints, a total of 20 challans were issued for offenses including drunk driving, over speeding, triple riding, riding without a helmet, and other traffic violations.
In anticipation of Holi celebrations, the police had already issued a strict warning, resulting in a relatively lower number of violations. Strict monitoring was carried out across various parts of the city, and immediate action was taken against miscreants causing disturbances. The police had earlier appealed to the public to celebrate Holi peacefully and follow traffic rules to prevent any accidents. —TNS
