2006-batch officer Pushpendra new IG of Chandigarh

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, has announced the transfer of three senior officers to Chandigarh, including the appointment of a new Inspector General of Police (IGP).

Chandigarh IGP Raj Kumar Singh has been reassigned to Delhi. A 2004 batch officer from the AGMUT cadre, he also held the additional responsibility of Director General of Police (DGP) after the transfer of DGP Surendra Yadav. The top police position in the city remains unoccupied for now.

Replacing Singh is Pushpendra Kumar, a 2006 batch IPS officer, also from the AGMUT cadre. He is being transferred here from Delhi.

The MHA has posted another IPS officer, KM Priyanka, to Chandigarh. Priyanka, from the 2021 batch, is also part of the AGMUT cadre. She was serving in Delhi.

Pardeep Kumar, IAS officer of the 2013 batch, will join here after being transferred from Jammu and Kashmir.

These changes are seen as part of a broader reshuffle within the AGMUT cadre, aimed at streamlining governance and reinforcing administrative functions in key union territories.
