22-year-old beaten to death over family rivalry in Mohali

A 22-year-old youth from Gobindgarh village in Saneta was beaten to death after a clash broke out between two families over an old rivalry.

The victim, who has been identified as Akash, sustained injuries in the incident and was rushed to the Phase-6 civil hospital. Given the severe injuries, he was referred to PGI but he died on his way to the hospital.

On the statement of the kin of the deceased, a murder case has been registered at the Sohana police station.

The police said they are investigating the matter and the accused will be arrested soon.

They had received information about the clash between two families, following which a team reached the spot and rushed the victim to the hospital.

The police, meanwhile, handed over the victim's body to the kin after the postmortem was conducted.
