25-yr-old youth stabbed to death in Zirakpur
A 25-year-old youth was stabbed to death by two unidentified scooty-borne youths near the traffic police beat box at the Zirakpur-Patiala chowk last night.
Sources said the victim, Akashdeep Singh, a native of Gurdaspur, had heated arguments with two youths near an eatery. As tempers ran high, the youths stabbed him with sharp weapons. He ran for life but the assailant chased him on the road. They caught hold of him near the beat box and stabbed him again. Akashdeep sustained injuries on the head and neck. He was taken to a private hospital from where he was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32. He succumbed to injuries there.
Local residents informed the police about the incident. The police have registered a murder case at the Zirakpur station. They are scanning the CCTV footage of the area to get some clue about the killers.
