Chandigarh, June 11
The Traders Welfare Association, Sector 21, in association with the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal today organised a vaccination camp for the 18 plus age group in the area.
Beopar Mandal president Charanjiv Singh said as many as 277 shopkeepers and their staff received the first dose of vaccine during the camp.
“More people were interested in vaccination, but due to limited stock available with the Health Department the registration counter was closed at 12 pm,” he said.
Former Mayor and area councillor Asha Jaiswal inaugurated the camp. She praised the efforts of the Traders Association and the Beopar Mandal for organising such camps to break the Covid chain.
Charanjiv Singh said they were performing their social duty by organising such camps in markets.
“Vaccination will ultimately prove to be the shield against the corona virus. It will help in breaking the Covid chain,” he said, and added that similar camps would be organised in other markets also.
