Three children suffered severe burns in an explosion while trying to warm themselves by a fire in Abhaypur village, Sector 19, on Saturday morning.

The victims, aged 4 to 7, were rushed to Sector 6 Civil Hospital with critical injuries. Witnesses described the explosion as bomb-like, causing panic in the area.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the blast. Initial reports suggest the children may have been near an LPG cylinder, which could have ignited the explosion. Police are also exploring the possibility of foul play.

The victims, Sabrina, 8, Salim, 7, and Sahida, 5, are from a low-income background. Police are interviewing witnesses and relatives to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
