3 spas sealed for immoral trafficking, owners booked
6 girls rescued from these centres located on VIP Road
The police today booked three owners of spa centres on VIP Road here for immoral trafficking and rescued six girls.
The police said they received information that immoral activities were going on at these places under the garb of spa centres. They raided the places and rescued six girls. Their owners are absconding.
The police sealed these centres, “Honey Bee Spa”, “Nature Salon and Spa” and “Mini Tulip Day Spa”, and booked their owners for immoral trafficking.
Zirakpur SHO Satinder Singh said, “The owners are absconding and will be arrested soon. The action against illegal spas will continue.”
On September 16, 2024, the police raided five spa centres and booked their owners.
These centres — “Nature Touch Spa Centre”, “Buddha Thai Spa”, “Maria Spa”, “Orchid Spa” and “Infinity Spa Centre” — were engaged in flesh trade under the guise of massage parlours at Chandigarh City Centre (CCC) here.
A year earlier, nine spa owners were booked for immoral trafficking and 12 shops sealed at the CCC. Nine accused were arrested and 28 suspicious persons, including 21 women, were detained.
In August 2022, seven spa and massage parlours’ owners were booked on the VIP Road.
Sources said there were more than 100 spa and massage centres functional across Zirakpur. “Some shops are sealed, only employees booked and a few girls rescued. Those running the show behind the scenes get away scot-free,” said a VIP Road resident.
“Nature Salon and Spa” owner Anil Gupta of Amritsar, “Honey Bee Spa” owner Vikas and “Mini Tulip Day Spa” managed by Sharia have been booked.
