300 boxes of illicit liquor seized in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, February 19
The police seized 300 boxes of illicit liquor being transported in a truck and arrested its driver.
The suspect, Dablu Sharma of Burail, was nabbed at a naka at Central Mall, Industrial Area, Phase 1.
Around midnight, a truck coming from the Verka Plant side was stopped. The driver could not produce the permit/licence to carry the liquor following which he was arrested under the Excise Act at the Industrial Area police station. Later, he was released on bail.
Apart from this, 300 boxes of illegal liquor were seized on February 7 and 90 boxes of liquor on February 9.
