4 arrested with 20-gm heroin, banned tablets

The police nabbed four persons and recovered 20-gm heroin and 2,900 banned tablets from their possession in separate cases here.

The suspects have been identified as Hardeep Dhiman, a resident of Nurpur Bedi, Kuldeep Singh from Dharamgarh village in Mohali, Arshad Iqbal from Baltana and Jugraj from Mohali. Arshad was arrested with 20-gm heroin.He was intercepted at a naka laid in Mohali. In the second case, Hardeep Dhiman was carrying 1,100 banned tablets when the police arrested him from Sector 66 here.

Another police team recovered 600 banned tablets from the possession of Kuldeep Singh and nearly 1,200 such tablets from Jugraj Singh, who was nabbed by the police near Amb Sahib Colony in Sector 65. Hardeep and Kuldeep have been sent to one-day remand under the police custody, while Arshad and Jugraj will be produced in local court tomorrow.
