Panchkula, February 5
A tragic road accident at a slip road at Sector 14 in Panchkula led to the death of a four-year-old boy.
The accident occurred when a speeding car collided with the scooter on which three persons of a family— a elderly couple and their grandson — were travelling.
The three fell on the road as a result of the collision of the vehicles and suffered grave injuries.
The four-year-old child succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.
The injured were rushed to the GH-6 in Panchkula for medical assistance.
Preliminary investigations by the Panchkula police revealed the accident was caused by the overspeeding by the driver of the car.
The three victims were going back home from the Nirankari Satsang Bhavan after a religious gathering.
A case has been registered against the driver of the car under Sections 279, 337, 338, 427, and 304-A of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The car driver has been taken into police custody.
The police said that investigation of the the circumstances that led to the accident have begun.
