40-year-old killed after tractor trolley overturns

Traffic movement was disrupted after the tractor-trailer overturned near the Patiala Chowk on Sunday.

A 40-year-old man died after the tractor-trailer he was riding was hit by a truck near the Patiala Chowk on the Patiala-Chandigarh National Highway early this morning.

The victim, has been identified as Kamruudin. Such was the impact of the collision, which took place around 4 am, that he fell off the vehicle.

Meanwhile, the tractor-trailer driver was also injured in the accident.

Upon being informed, the police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. A case was registered at the Zirakpur police station.

The victim’s body was moved to the mortuary of Dera Bassi Civil Hospital.

After the accident, a huge traffic jam ensued on the road till late in the morning.
