41 surgeries performed on first two days of Ayushman Bharat camp
Week-long campaign to continue till Nov 22
A total of 41 surgeries have been performed on the first two days of the Ayushman Bharat Surgical Camp Week, being organised from November 17 to 22. The aim of the initiative is to ensure that no eligible beneficiary under the Ayushman Bharat/Chirayu Haryana scheme remains on a waiting list for pending surgeries.
Sharing further details, Civil Surgeon Dr Mukta Kumar said the surgical camp was being conducted in an organised manner at Civil Hospital, Sector 6.
Kumar informed that on the first day of the camp, 20 surgeries were conducted across different departments. These included seven general surgeries (four laparoscopic cholecystectomies and three hernia repairs), four ENT surgeries, six eye surgeries and three orthopaedic procedures. All surgeries were conducted free of cost and cashless under the Ayushman Bharat/Chirayu Haryana scheme.
Meanwhile, on the second day, 21 surgeries, included 12 general surgeries (six laparoscopic cholecystectomies, two open procedures and four other surgeries), one ENT procedure and eight eye surgeries were performed.
Every patient was provided free and cashless treatment as per the scheme guidelines.

The Civic Surgeon said special arrangements have been put in place to ensure smooth operations during the remaining days of the camp from 19 to 22 November. These include round-the-clock availability of specialist surgeons and anaesthesia teams, continuous operational readiness of the operation theatres, additional beds in pre- and post-operative wards, a dedicated Ayushman helpdesk for document verification and beneficiary registration.
