As many as 41 persons, aged above 85, and differently-abled persons of Panchkula cast their votes on Friday. The teams of the district election office went across the two Assembly segments—Panchkula and Kalka — to collect votes from these individuals, who had filled Form 12D.

Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Yash Garg said the process of voting on the basis of Form 12D was started in both Assemblies on Friday. He said a total of 147 individuals had applied for Form 12D, including 113 elderly people and 34 disabled people with more than 40 per cent disability.

He said 51 voters of Kalka Assembly segment (including 26 disabled and 25 elderly) and 96 voters of Panchkula Assembly segment (8 disabled and 88 elderly) had applied form 12D. On Friday, three teams of Panchkula went to MDC sectors 5, 6, Panchkula sectors 1, 2, 8, 9 15, 25, 26 and other areas.

A total of 41 individuals cast their votes in Panchkula segment and all 51 voters (differently abled and aged above 85 years) cast their votes on Friday.

On Saturday, the teams will visit sectors 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 12A, 14, 19, 20, 21 and Kharak Mangoli. Officials said casting was underway at the time of the filing of the story.
