45 receive assistance for drug addiction, mental health issues at medical camp

A medical camp was organised at the Health and Wellness Centre in Tipra village, located in the Kalka area under the “Drug and Violence-Free – My Village, My Pride” campaign.

The camp was conducted jointly by the Panchkula Police Department and the Health Department. With the assistance of police personnel, doctors and psychologists, information was gathered on 25 individuals struggling with substance abuse, who were then brought to the camp and provided treatment. Additionally, treatment was initiated for 20 individuals suffering from mental health issues related to drug use and other causes.

Neelam Narwal, a female police officer associated with the drug de-addiction campaign, shared that apart from such camps, police teams also conduct field visits in various areas to identify and help addicts receive proper treatment.

Commending the initiative, Commissioner of Police Sibash Kabiraj remarked that such efforts are a significant stride towards empowering society.
